My daughter just turned eight and I am starting to be at a loss of what to get her for Christmas. She is a girly girl who loves soccer and is artistic. As I was searching for gift ideas for her here are a few that I just love and sparks their creativity and fun at the same time. I don't want to just get her random toys that I know will just sit there or add any more to the stuffed animal pile. Here are my top gift ideas for 8 year old girls. From sports, to dolls, and everything in between.
We went to a craft class not that long ago and both kids got to sew their own bags to take home some soaps that they made. It was a simple project that sparked a new interest. Sewing doesn't have to be hard or complicated. It is a chance for them to learn how to measure, follow patterns, and just create something new. When kids can get a hands on experience that allows their creativity to soar then it help foster a love learning new things. I found a couple kid friendly sewing machines that are easy to setup and use. After all you don't want to spend tons of money on something if they find they don't like it after all. With this basic sewing starter kit, they have the tools they need to start sewing. You can pick up some fabric squares at Walmart or craft stores so that she can practice before you buy large pieces of fabric for projects.
What little girl doesn't like to write her own stories or secrets? SmitCo has some super cute notebooks and diaries on Amazon. Your little girl can write down what happened in her day. Draw sweet pictures of her and her friends, then embellish it all with stickers and bling included in the set. The front of the diary comes with its own code, just remind her to memorize it and take the code sticker off so her pesky little brother can't get in! Bella has one of the 18" dolls that came with a set of clothes. There are more clothes that you can buy for just the doll, but being able to dress in the same clothes as the doll is even more fun. Zulily has some super cute sets right now from jammies to everyday to dress up clothes where your little girl can match her doll at great prices.
Since my baby girl is into sports then I have to add in some sports gear here for her. A new ball, a cute sports jacket, or maybe even an ornament with her fave sport would be a great gift for that sports loving girl in your family. I love this hover ball for those times when it is too cold or rainy to get out and play. Hair ties and headbands are a must too!
So whether your girl is crafty, sporty, or all of the above I hope my list of gifts for an 8 year old girl will help get you started on what to get this Christmas or birthday. Another thing we like to do for holidays instead of giving gifts we give experiences. Take your child to a play or sports team game. Do do one of the make it yourself paint days. You don't always have to give them physical gifts. Experiences will give them memories to last a lifetime.
